question about networking

Im gunna be setting up a network for my friends uncle i know how to
everthing but they were sayin they want me to make it where there
daughter cant access ne thing she shouldnt on the web can some 1 give
me some pointers

Operating system on the daughter's computer (XP Home, Pro, Media Center,
Vista)? How old is the daughter and what kind of filtering is desired?

You could try a free dns filtering service:
http://www.scrubit.com/

If that does not give satisfactory results you could try internet filtering
software; like netnanny, cyberpatrol, safekids, etc. Google for "internet
filtering software".
