Question About My Plextor DVDRW Drive

I have a Plextor PX-712A DVDRW drive, and have intermittent problems
trying to burn DVD disks.

Sometimes they play, sometimes not.

Then I used Roxio device properties to see how it identified this
drive and was surprised to see:

can write the following media types: CD-R, CD-RW, CD-RW High-Speed.
CD-RW

This bothers me since DVD capability is not in the list. What does
anyone think?

Have you gone to Roxio and checked to see if there are any patches for the
software you're running?
