I recently bought this wonderful board.. p4p800 (not deluxe)...
installation went smooth and everything works fine now except:

- my 40gig maxtor ata133 is not recognized as ata133 but as ata100.. I
thought this board had ata133 support? if so, how do I enable it?

- I have 1x512mb kingstone ddr333, and my computer lists it as 266mhz... I
checked the manual, there is supposed to be a ddr frequency setting in the
"advanced section of the bios" but am I blind or just plain stupid not to
see it in MY bios.

I think the board is v1.0, running on latest bios, or so says the bios
update tool.

it's a great board. just a few minor things I'd love to solve. thanks for
your time!

The Intel IDE controller, used for Primary and Secondary IDE, only supports
ATA100. If you want ATA133 that bad you'll have to setup a RAID JBOD with
your one disk.

Honestly, it won't make a smidgen of difference.

Go into Jumperfree Mode and select Manual, then change your DDR to 320 MHz.

that's what I thought... the SATA would make much more of a difference
correct?

oh okay.. so thats how it works... well, I did it and guess what.. the only
settings I got in DDR frequency is AUTO or 266... how can I make SURE my
ddr is 266 ? a program? the guy who sold it to me assured me its 333.

thanks.

Not really, in theory SATA has a lot of room for future improvements but
right now, performance is really not any better than a good PATA drive.

Very strange, with any ram it should still let you select the frequency. Are
you overclocking at all?

Yes AIDA32 should tell you what your memory is really rated at. Sounds like
you may have been ****ed over.

no. I run a p4 2.2gig 400fsb.. its not a big deal.. or maybe I just don't
wanna consider myself "****ed over".. but anyway.. I just wanna know for
sure... so your saying that it doesn't matter what cpu speed/fsb you got...
you should always be able to select all the possible memory speeds with
bios? do you know of any program/way to test the max speed of my memory
stick?

Did you plug your HD into the IDE or the RAID ide channels?

The main IDE channel only goes up to 100. The Raid IDE channels go up to
133.
