Question about my BIOS

I'm using a P4PE board. Every time upon boot I get the message that the
BIOS is not installed. But it is. I can access the BIOS and adjust things
as needed. The computer runs fine, I'm just curious why this would happen.

Do you have a SCSI controller card installed in the computer? If so,
that message may be referring to its BIOS (which wouldn't be needed if
you're not booting from a SCSI HD).

If you have the version of the P4PE that has a Promise SATA controller
onboard, and you have no SATA drive connected to it, you'll get the "no BIOS
installed" message at startup. This refers to the Promise controller's BIOS,
which is in addition to the mainboard's BIOS.

It's similar to what you'd get with the SCSI controller another poster
mentioned.

Address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn.

Further to message from Bob Knowlden, disable the Promise controller in
Bios and the message will go away
