hello, i have just been givin a monitor splitter box and have set it
up. I have a clone picture on the screen. I have seen my Dad using a
splitter and he can choose what windows go on what screen and also pass
the mouse from one screen to the other.

How do i do this???....no software came with the splitter....and i am
not even sure if my splitter box will do anything more than clone a
monitor.

Will "multires" allow me to make a set up like my dads or is it just a
cloner?.......would much apreciate some advice.

many thanks in advance..........A

PS my video splitter is a Rextron VSA12

I'm afraid not... your dad has a true multi-monitor setup. For that,
you need (i) two separate graphics cards to drive the separate
monitors or (ii) a dual-head graphics card that can drive two
monitors at once.

The splitter box just takes one signal and duplicates it on the two
outputs, so you're not going to get the dual-monitor setup you
describe with only the splitter box.

So: get yourself a cheap second graphics card and install it. You
won't regret it, I couldn't miss it for the world when working in
certain applications...

You could try the Dexpot.... It alows me to have whichever of Four desktops
