Mike G.

I have a question about Outlook 2003, and multiple profiles.

I have not yet used multiple profiles, and multiple profiles may not be the
way to go for me.

I have three email accounts. Two pop accounts and one imap account.

This is how I would like to set up Outlook:

1) I would like to take incomming mail from all three accounts and place
each one in it's own inbox.
2) I would like to be able to respond to the email using the MY email
address that corrosponds to the account the email was from.
3) I would like to be notified of incomming mail as soon as it arrives from
any of the accounts.

Is this possible?

If I set each account up in a different profiles, will Outlook notify me of
incomming mail if I'm not currently in that profile? That's my main
concern.

Currently, I use Outlook, Eudora, and Netscape all at the same time. It
would be nice to have only one tool manage them all at the same time.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Outlook will not notify you of mail in another profile. The best option for
your choice is to have it in one profile and create a new pst for each
account and create a rule to have mail received through a specific account
moved to that particular pst

Oz, thanks for the response.

I'm not too familiar with Outlook. Can you tell me what a "pst" is?

Also, on the rules wizard, I don't see any options in the "Action" window,
which would move the email to a particular "pst".

Thanks for your help,

That's a Personal Folders File. In Outlook, you should see a "Personal
Folders" entry, with folders underneath it. All of those folders are in a
file whose file type is ".pst". Open the Folders View, right-click on
"Personal Folders", select "Properties", click "Advanced", and you'll see
the name of the file containing the Personal Foldrs.
Also, on the rules wizard, I don't see any options in the "Action"
window, which would move the email to a particular "pst".

The Action is to move the message to a specific folder. That folder can be
in a different Personal Folders file for each account. To create a new
Personal Folders file, in Outlook, click File>New>Outlook Data File. You
should see a pop-up for creating a Personal Folders File. Click OK. Name
your file and click OK. Next specify the name with which the folders file
will be displayed (the "Name:" field. You may want to name it with the
account's name so you can tell it apart from the other Personal Folders
files. Click OK. Now you've created a Personal Folders file into which you
can move one account's messages. Create a folder with that file
(right-click on the folder file display name you just chose and pick "New
Folder...". Name the folder. Now, create a rule that will move the mail
for the desired account into that folder.

Brian.Tillman is the name, smiths-aerospace.com is the domain.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.

I can't seem to figure this out.

Is it possible to have your email address (reply address) automatically
switch depending on the incomming email.

I would like to be able to manage three accounts, but when I reply to a
message, I would like my reply to email address to change to look like it's
comming from the correct account.

Thanks,

-Mike
