Question about importing files

I'm trying to import an mpeg 2 file. It is a 264 MB file I downloaded from
the internet. Does anyone know why I'm getting this message?

mpeg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events
from

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I am trying to import an mpeg4 into Widows Movie Maker if I read your last
response correctly you suggest to convert it to an avi file? Is there
possibly a codec out there that can be downloaded to make it compatible with
WMM? Thanks for your help.
