In trying to access the Saturn automobile web site, I'm being told I need to
install Flashplayer 7 or better. I realize this is a plug in, but I'm not
sure if I should be downloading and installing these things just to view a
web site.
Generally, I have a clean system and use all default IE security settings.
I'm assuming this "flashplayer" is required for some active X viewing but I
don't know a lot about these things.
Can someone advise me on whether or not downloading things like this is a
good idea or should I just pass on the sites that require it installed?
Thanks
Dudley

As plug-ins go, Flash is pretty tame - it's not really a security threat as
other add-ons go. It's really a matter of personal preference if you want
to see the Flash animations on a site or not. Not having it can spare you
from seeing ads popping up on lots of sites nowadays. You'll miss a lot of
'intro' animations at sites, too, but there's usually a small 'skip' link on
those. You can install Flash to see the car images you want, then use IE's
Tools...Manage Add-on feature to disable it. Or, you can use a third party
tool -

You'll need to use the Softpedia mirror link to download as the developer's
site is offline....

Thank you. This helps a lot.
