Question about "Epson Scan" and my Epson 4870 -- Mac

Perhaps someone can answer a question about using ³Epson Scan². After I open
the Epson scanning software in Photoshop CS and complete the scan, the
program closes and quits. For the next scan the ³Epson Scan² program has to
open again. Other than this, the program and rig is terrific.

My previous scanners and software kept the scanning software open as one did
a series of scans, saving the time and motion of opening it each time. Is
there a command or preference on Epson¹s software to enable this behavior?

Thanks in advance.

Photoshop that I know about but you can run the EpsonScan application on its
own (not from within Photoshop).

i have the same problem in umax vistascan when scanning from this
scansoftware.after scanning image will be displayed in
imagesoftware(paintshoppro) at least we can save but changings can only
be made when scansoftware has been closed.
by starting scansoftware first and telling to save in imagesoftware i
can leave scansoftware open and imagesoftware will have its full
options. vuescan dn silverfast are the best scansoftware. silverfast has
its hdr-called imagesoftware(replaced for photoshop etc) working with it
could be delightful. but i am very saties fied with paintshop pro 8.
with new version 9 it would be terrific. its easy using without
training. but anyhow next i will invest in a good book.
michael przewrocki-who will soon buy epson 4990 with silverfast
ai6(pro-version).
