Question about eDonkey

Not too long ago I read a post here about eDonkey being a replacement
for Shareaza. I went to the site, downloaded it and stsrted the install
process. Windows Spyware Bete intercepted it saying it was trying to
install a bunch of adware/spyware. So I let it removed them all. I
guess I was suckered by whomever say it has no adware. Can anyone else
tell me if this is a scamware? Thanks.

The last time I tried it, the installer gave you options to uncheck the
install of some spyware - though edonkey has always been adware. E-mule is
better.

If there is any question as to whether e mule .45 is spyware, trust me, it
is. I no sooner install and use it than spy bot tells me I have 27
trackers, etc to delete. It delete them and they are reinstalled or come
back (if actually removed) within seconds, literally.

Are there any url(s) which I can have which will give me p2p file shareing
without spyware?

Hard to believe open source being spyware.
Neither My Adaware 1.05 nor Spybot did not found anything suspicious on
my PC with Emule 44d, than 45b.
