Hi, I have configured my home LAN to access the internet via RRAS using NAT
and DHCP. I required this configuration because I have a number of static ip
devices (routers/switches) in the LAN. I also wanted the ability to add pc's
without the hassle of static assignment. all is working perfect. I just have
a question about my server computer. The server is the default gateway and
is also the dhcp server. I have noticed that I have the following Address
Leases listed in DHCP:

Client IP Address Name
===================
192.168.0.1 myserver
192.168.0.2 myserver
192.168.0.3 myserver
...
...
192.168.0.10 myserver
192.168.0.11 myserver
192.168.0.12 mylaptop
192.168.0.13 myotherpc

Why does the server computer have so many leases on itself? I have assigned
the server with a static IP address (192.168.0.1). Why do i see 12 IP
addresses bound to the server? There shouldnt be any lease on that network
card as its a static ip address.

I have defined my scope as: 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.254
No exclusion range
No reservations

Thanks!
Peter

The RRAS computer will take out addresses (ie. Reserve) for Remote
Connection clients (VPN).
You can change this within RRAS by going to the properties of PPTP and/or
IPSec.
