In WD in default action
High
Med
Low
right now it says default action (definition based) on all 3

what does definition based mean?
and what do you recommend the 3 should sit at anyway?

Hello Robin,

I don't remenber for sure, but I think is based in relation with the
settings in SpyNet.

I keep the settings as a default.

Maybe other helper can shine the light in the subject.

Good luck

engel,
do you have checked apply to default actions detected when doing a scan?
and if it finds malware does it still ask you what you want to do and not
just do it?
robin

Hi Robin,

No. is unchecked. I forgot about any findings, is been a long time since the
last time.

well I got the answer from MS after I called them about WD issue
the tech told me if you do not check that box and leave it in the default
actions, WD will ask you what to do.
If you check the box, and leave it in the default- WD will also ask you what
to do.

If you check the box and put in "quarantine" , WD will quarantine the file
instead of asking you what to do and it will do the same if you pick the
others too.

If you uncheck the box and change from default to quarantine- it will
automatically put it in quarantine.
Tech told me the best thing to do is uncheck the box and let WD ask you. by
leaving it in default

Thanks--good explanation. I've set antimalware apps on a server to
auto-quarantine stuff. There's some risk there, in the event of a false
positive, but the thing is quickscanning hourly, and I'm not watching it, so
I'd rather it just took care of stuff. Will see whether this bites me or
not. For a client workstation that presumably has somebody looking at it
most of the time, I wouldn't bother.
