Roxio's instructions for recovering 'Lost CD or DVD Drives' at

<http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/drive_recovery.jhtml>

recommends deleting the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values in Step 4.
When I look at referenced Registry Key,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE:
SYSTEM:
CurrentControlSet:
Control:
Class:
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318},

I find in addition to the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values two other
values, UpperFilters.bak and LowerFilters.bak.

Can anyone tell me what these are and if they should be deleted also?

TIA,

Rich

BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY as the instructions say.
Also export that single registry key:
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Delete the backup keys:
(UpperFilters.bak and LowerFilters.bak)

Read the help in Regedit if necessary:
Help | Help Topics | Index tab | "Exporting registry files"

If the Easy CD Creator has any problems from deleting the
values, just restore them from the .reg file you exported.
Keep the exported .reg file for a few weeks or months,
don't just delete it right away after everything looks OK.
You never know when problems may arise. That way if you
need it; you have it.

Rich,

I have the same issue. Not only are there several
occurances of these entries, I have about 20 keys all with
the same name. Is this normal? How did you fare?

Thanks,
Keith
