Hi there,

I've been looking to upgrade my A7V motherboard
to one of the following motherboards:

A7V8X
A7V8X-X
A7N8X
A7N8X-X

I was told in another newsgroup that nForce2 chipset
was better but I need a m/b that has onboard sound,
lan and video...

I checked out the spec's on these boards, and they
all mention AGP8X but don't mention if don't say if
they actually have video onboard... do they or not?

Thanks
Mark

the MX version has video, 1 lan port, and audio
the stock A7V8X has Audio, Lan both as "Optional" so that's something that
you would need to check with your dealer, but it doesnt have video
the X version has Lan and Audio but no video either
so the a7v8x series, you'll need the a7v8x-mx

Lets just say that the same type of devisions and you'll need the MX version
of the A7N8X to get video

If you go away from the onboard video then you have tons more options at
your disposal..

Why didn't you just look on the ASUS site ?

Anyway, the A7N8X-VM is the board you need to be looking for. It's very new,
so be patient until it becomes easy to find. Full specs here :

Thanks everyone! I did check out the Asus web site
and I think I went back and forth between all the boards
so many times I was getting confused! (it's late here in
Australia ;-)

The main reason I want onboard video is because I'm
on a budget and plan to buy a separate video card at a
later date.

Thanks again.
