I have come across 2 laptops recently which have been set up to emulate
Win2K startup and closedown. The users would dearly like to get rid of this
'feature' but I cannot see how.

Any help please.

The message box comes up asking you to press ctrl/alt/del and then the Win2K
type logon message box comes up. The close down sequence also uses message
boxes rather than text on a plain blue background.

Go to Start/Run and type control userpasswords2 and press OK. Click the Advanced Tab, in the Secure Logon section, remove the check mark from the "Require users to press CTRL+ALT+Delete. Apply/OK.

I'm sorry I missed your reply. Thanks for that.
