Is it possible to query an Access database using Excel?
For example, I have a long list of transactions involving
items. Our master list of items is very large, I tried
putting the entire list in Excel and it was over 45,000
rows. What I need to do is lookup each item in the
transaction detail in the item list and retrieve certain
fields. However, having as many VLOOKUPs as I do is
making it run VERY SLOW...I was hoping to dump my master
item list in Access, then query off it row-by-row in my
transaction detail list in Excel...is this possible? I
have only found the "Import External Data" function on the
Data menu...but that does not allow me to point to a
specific cell to pull in the item number I want to lookup
in my database. Thanks for any and all help!
