I have a Compaq desktop with Win XP. I have now got a Acer notebook with Win
XP.
What is the best way to transfer ALL the Favorites Folders from the desktop
to
the notebook as I will be travelling overseas shortly?

Thanking you

Hi Capt K,

If you have a lan connection between your desktop and laptop use the Windows
Explorer to copy and paste all the folders under your Favorites folder to
your laptop, Otherwize burn a CD with your favorites folder contents and
then copy it to the laptop.

Tip: If you have a USB port on your desktop and a USB mass storage device
(MEM stick) you can copy all your favorites onto the Memory stick.
Then you will be able to access your favorites folder even when not using
your own computers. There is a trick to point your Favorites folder to a
different folder than the default, but it is too complicated to explain
here.

Regards.

In IE, File | Import and Export | Export Favorites.
Then on the other computer Import Favorites.

Thank you Frank. This was the best and the easiest method! By the way, can
the same method be tried for OE too? Or can I have a go at Files & Settings
Wizard as both PC's have WIN XP ? I know that this is NOT the Newsgroup but
could you advise?
Thanks in advance

No, OE has no such function. F.A.S.T. is the easiest way to move OE data
and settings, but I think the best way is the cloning method here:
