Hello,
I do appreciate this is a vague question but I wanted some confirmation from
the experts.
I have a 2003 database with 1.8 million records. I have one form with 16
combo boxes and 60 queries each with filters on those 16 combo boxes.
It all works fine, produces the report based on the filters but it takes 45
minutes to run.
I have read up on all the advice about making queries run faster, the
database is on my hard drive, no linked tables, exlcusive access, indexed,
field sizes reduced, relationships defined.
All I really want to get a steer on is do you think 45 minutes is
accpetable, given the information you can tell from this vague request? It
still seems long to me, given the fact that it is on my hard drive and not on
a server. I did read somewhere that Access is funny after 1 million records.
Many thanks,
Martin
