Query for foreign language

I'm grasping at straws here, but does anyone have any idea how I might be
able to query a table of titles (books, journals) for foreign language?

Not unless you have a "language" field in the table, or a dictionary
table of each language that you want to test. And the dictionary
search would be *very* slow, as in principle you'ld have to test every
word in each title against every word in the dictionary.

I suppose you could get a rough cut by assuming that most titles
containing the word "The" are probably English (you might get some
French articles about tea), and most containing "Der" or "Das" might
be German... but "Die" would find a lot of English mysteries! <g>
