Query AD for Corporate Phone Book

I want to query against the AD for a corporate phone book
on our Intranet. Can someone point me to a site or
document that would have the information and some sample
code to perform such a task. I thought if we just
qureied off the LDAP interface it would work, but so far
I keep getting errors.
