I have a perfect .avi movie captures from my digital
camcorder... video looks awesome... as soon as a I move
to the storyboard... the quality changes...and it's much
worse.

I thought maybe it's just the preview... so I did what I
needed to do... saved it again at the highest
setting... .avi... and put it in another program and put
it on dvd to test it... quality was crap

what would be causing this? I have an Geforce2 64mb
video card and WMM2

(e-mail address removed)

What was the AVI quaility after saved from MM2 and played
in Media Player? (before compressing for DVD)

You have not said which settings you have used to make the dvd, it may well
be this that has caused the problem. As well as testing as above, can you
output the avi to your cam and play back on your tv, it should look
identical to your original footage.

it doesn't... trust me...

as soon as I move it to the storyboard...the quality
changes DRAMATICALLY

if I save it as an avi and make a dvd..the quality is
identical to what it is showing me in the storyboard in
MM2...

I use to be able to use MM2 without a problem... but
don't know what caused this change? Could it be a video
card driver or something along those lines? Codec issues?

please help... I really need to get this to work

tks

crappy... just like it was showing in the storyboard

i have no clue what is causing this... but I really need
to get itback working again

I am glad I am not the only one with this problem. As
SOON as I drop it in the story board, quality changes,
not to mention the footage gets jumpy at times too.
Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Hi Eric,

In the manner described by you this would indicate that one of the files
(Codec's) used by Movie Maker is either not working properly itself or has
been overwritten by some other codec (Not Likely but possible) or, Movie
Maker is using a third party codec and its not up to the mark.

I have not yet written the tutorial on how to fix this...its very easy, but
its also easy to make a mess, so if you want the details contact me via the
web site which will give me time to put the words together in the right
order :)
