Quality of my video/radeon display is lacking.

I have a, probably, silly question. I have a brand spankin new Dell XPS with a 1800fp and a 256mb Radeon. So far this highly touted video card/monitor have not blown my socks off. It may be that I just haven't "tested" it properly.

I have installed XP Plus! and it has some screen savers on it, specificly "Aquarium". The static shot of the plants, rocks etc, is absolutely beautiful, but with the fish, I get a bit of, what I can only call, "smearing".

Now for the silly question part. Is this a valid test of my video card, or do I need to get some kind of whiz bang game?

Image Quality is very subjective.
