qttask?

When I rebbot my computer (Win2000), I get a screen
4b8: qttask.exe - No disk -
Insert disk into drive /Device/Harddisk1/DR1.
It appears three times with Cancel, Continue or ?? Options.
One can find it on the TaskBar screen, but why is it
appearing, what does it do and/or what program generated
it? Help??

It's goddamn QuickTime(QT) phoning home.
Search for startup.cpl on the net. It'll give you the options to
disable it from starting when Win boots. Since you don't know what it
is, there's probably a lot of crap running behind your back like
LoadQM (delete the file), and other stuff phoning home like ET.
After disabling the sneaky progs, I suggest installing and running
AdAware to disable the sneakier stuff that's still in there....
