How can i have a sound problem if i can play other cd
games? I am having a problem with 8 disc, but they are
two different sets. I received three error messages in
all. I numbered them in the order that they accured.
When i tried to reload them. All goes well until it
searches for similar Quick time files. I've tried both
ways. I tried deleting similar files. Then i tried
skipping them. Same outcome.
ERROR message #1: QTinstall caused a General
protection fault in module QTinstall.exe at 0002;5DA9
choose close and Quick time will close. when i tried to
play the game i would get; #2 "The sound software is
not installed properly or has been disabled". This one
i just received today. #3 The sound decompression
software has not been installed properly.
I have run all kinds of CD-rom, system, sound,
software, and hardware checks. All are working properly. I
also got the latest upgraded version of Q.T.. I can play
music cd's and record music and play other cd games.
Only games with Quick Time on them has this problem. I
don't know if it is Quick Time related, but i just put
the Advantage Math disc in an it worked fine and if they
work, then how can i have a sound related problem. I
didn't have this problem before. I found this out in
July. In May or June i received new security updates,
which i downloaded. In the early part of June i ran the
disc defragmenter. Those two things were the only new
things too happen. It had been maybe March or April, the
last time any of the games were played. They worked fine.
These are, "Children Multimedia" games.
I have been trying to get an answer to this since July.
It is almost November.

This problem is to do with quicktime as qinstall is the quicktime installer.
Try posting this on a quicktime technical support group or contacting
quicktime support directly.
