when I want to install this update it presents a message telling me that I
need to have the internet explorer 6.0 installed in my computer and I'm using
windows Xp professional so it has that version of the browser installed.

Best to allow Windows Update to identify updates the machine needs, instead
of picking and choosing ones you think he needs. The message is saying that
you already have an update installed which supersedes the earlier one you're
trying to install.
