Not sure it's really a network problem...not really sure
where this goes but worth a shot.
I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this or has an
idea...
....we recently applied the fix identified in Q811492 to
some of our desktops as we had that specific delete
problem. It did indeed fix the problem, deleting from
network drives has improved from this patch.
Except we are now noticing that almost every machine we
apply this fix too suddenly develops roaming profile
errors. Most of the blocked files are from the profiles
recent folder as below but not always. The basic error
(NOTE:actual file different from machine to machine)
Windows cannot copy file C:\Documents and
Settings\ZPLASKIN\Recent\welcome.doc.lnk to location
\\Humboldt\Profiles\Communications\ZPLASKIN\Recent\welcome.
doc.lnk. Possible causes of this error include network
problems or insufficient security rights. If this problem
persists, contact your network administrator.
DETAIL - The process cannot access the file because it is
being used by another process.
As stated, this happens the first log off after the patch
is installed and will go away upon the patches removal. It
doesn't do any damage and the recent folder is not top
priority considering the delete fix wins for problem
scope. However we'd like to figure out why the patch
suddenly causes this and am not having much luck so far.
We could do a number of things like policy out profile
folders in profile uploads but are looking for the root
cause and solution if possible. Thanks in advance for any
ideas.
