Hi all.
I presently have 11 svchost's running.
I killed the one that took up 95% of my cpu-- making it 12 in all.
While I don't need "everything" to be active right now, I would like to stop
this once and for all.
From what I've read from google, it could easily be a virus, but my AV
scanner doesn't recognize it. And I'm a charter cable customer, so I'm using
F-Secure AV/IS. They're out of Europe.
I haven't taken any steps to "fix" or "repair" the svchost yet.
Anyone have any ideas on how I can resolve this-- permanently?
My OS is XP-Pro, SP2.
I'm using IE 6.0.2900.2801.....
It's an older laptop-- 2000 GW2K, PIII-650, 544mb Ram, 40gb hdd.
Thanks.
