Hello,
Does anyone know how I can disable the onboard memory in a Gateway solo
5150 laptop?
I have plenty of memory, but there is a bad cell in the onboard 32MB
that keeps giving me errors.

Thanks

If it is soldered to the motherboard you probably can't disable it.
If it's in a slot just remove that module.

There are only a couple of possibilities if it were disable-able, either a
BIOS setting or a switch (would would be detailed in the manual, check
Gateway's website if you don't have the manual).

Thanks for the feedback,
The problem lies with the 32MB solder on the MB. There is an indication
in the manual that it can be disables, BUT, I can't find any info in the
manual, or the web site.
There are also no jumpers that I can see.
Also there are no obvious settings in the BIOS for disabling this
memory, but when you test the memory it says something like "To disable
contact support"

Thanks again
