Hi,
AVG 8.0 continuously notifies this morning that
"c:\WINDOWS\system32\vtUlJbyw.dll" is a virus.
I could not find a single file on vtUlJbyw.dll when googled.
I believe that this file introduced when YouTube Downloader was
installed. I could not remove this file under safe mode.
Could someone tell me whether this is a virus or not?
Jorge
It probably is non-viral malware, which can be just as bad. It's common that
malware files are randomly named so unsurprising that you found nothing on
Google. In fact, finding nothing on Google is a strong indication that a
file is malware.
Go through these general malware removal steps systematically -

Include scanning with David Lipman's Multi_AV and follow instructions to do
all scans in Safe Mode.

(and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the
machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent
of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Please be aware that not all local shops
are skilled at removing malware and even if they are, your computer may be
so infested that Windows will need to be clean-installed. If possible, have
all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop.
