Hi,

In Internet Explorer (6.0), if I click "File", then "Open" and start typing
the URL,
IE will automatically suggest some URLs that I have visited in the past.
(e.g., as soon as I have typed "www.micro", IE will suggest
"www.microsoft.com")

I have mistakenly entered an invalid URL in the past (e.g.,
www.washingtopost.com
instead of "www.washingtonpost.com", the letter "n" is missing before
"post"). So, now everytime I type "www.wash", IE will suggest the wrong URL.

Q: Is there a way to delete some (but not all) entries of this auto-compleye
URL list?

Thanks.

Hi PA Bear,

I tried and was unable to delete the entry from the auto-complete list.
Here is what happened:
"File", "Open", and a window will show up.
I typed "www.wash" and many suggestions will appear.
I moved the mouse over to the suggestion that I wanted to delete and hit
"Delete".
Nothing happened. The wrong entry is still in the auto-complete list.

Thanks.

Tony

I nearly gave Bear's response but I did this instead.

1. Entered www.washingtopost.com in File-Open (it is not an invalid
URL, as I got to that site).
2. Found it as a suggestion in File-Open if I typed "was"
3. Went to History and deleted www.washingtopost.com only.
4. It is now gone.

You may not find it as easy if you used it a long time ago.

"This handy applet allows you to remove superfluous URLs from your
address bar in Microsoft Internet Explorer. "

If that is all the description offered, I will pass.
(Not that I need it anyway)

Thanks Alan for the response. It works.
