Has anyone had personal experience with both Ghost 2003 and Acronis True
Image? I am trying to decide which app to buy for backing up my harddrive
to firewire. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Symantec Ghost w/o hesitation.

Use 2003 personally, use enterprise v7.0 professionally.

The ONLY Symantec product I swear by and not swear at.

Ghost. For sure.

I swear at it regularly, but only because Intel doesn't deign to put out
packet drivers for their gigabit NICs.

But there are NDIS2 drivers right ?

Ghost uses Crynwar Packet Drivers natively due to WATTCP but it still has a
NDIS2 to Packet Driver shim.

There are three DOS protocol stacks, they are:

Crynwar PD (used to be Brigham Young PD (sp ?))
MS NDIS
Novell ODI

I have played with them all, and the shims, that allow one compliant TCP/IP
program to use another's protocol manager.
It's really not that hard. The fun part was doing memory management. For those
that ran in the below 640K RAM area I used QEMM. Otherwise Novell had three
versions of ODI. 8bit, 16bit VLM and 32bit NLM. At least Novell provided memory
management right in the protocol manager.
