To enlighten and inform. The official website is still there and just d/l
today's update.
BDC/Linux-Console v7.0 (build 2490) (i386) (Dec 10 2003 16:11:35)

Opinion: I think f-prot is better because it will dig down to the bottom
of archives. Bitdefender doesn't even if you give it bdc / --alev=5, for
example.

How about a-squared (an anti-trojan)
http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

and Antidote superlite (detects and reports viruses only no-removal)

For virus-scanners

How about escan? Kav based

http://www.mwti.net/antivirus/free_utilities.asp

No removal though.

Etrust is also kind of free for 1 year

This one too.

A Squared 2 is in an other list (Trojan scanners), but indeed is a
must have,

And I'm not sure about antidode. Its nice the report viruses, but no
removal is (IMHO) a bit cruel to the user.

but thanks Anyway!

If we are doing anti-trojans

Ewido is worth adding

Seems nice... About as powerfull as all other utilities on the site
combined, with the 'drawback'of being an ondemand scanner. (Something I can
live with, Most of the time, the call me after the damage is done, not
before)

MicroWorld Anti Virus Toolkit ( http://www.mwti.net/antivirus/free_utilities.asp )

Is scan and report only no disinfect. Although like antidote it is Kaspersky based
so it is worth having a copy (I have them both unzipped to the same dir since
they share many of the same files - they have different scanning options).

There is also Mcafee's command line scanner I guess. Scan and clean
(but not really freeware). See the BartPE site - ( www.nu2.nu/pebuilder )
http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/pluginhelp/mcafee.htm for details
(scan /? for command line options).
