Q: anybody knows why hdd failed after month in ASUS A9T (A9000) ?

the hard drive was barely used, very little used with care, and aft3er
a month it just stopped running.

I assume a possible problem could be in voltage and amperage ...disk's
V=5V ---1A,

4200RPM, 40GB. SEP.06....

morevover one more of the options could be those cheap external 2.5"
aTA/IDE cases made in China,
as users are switching them with USB into the notebook when the system
is on, thinking that that actions couldn't make damage. But my
personal opinion is that that actions could make a permanent damage to
hard drive as the electricity controllers on that cases are lacking
real-solid production...

on the other hand, maybe i'm wrong, the disk just stopped
working.fullstop

i really can't find internal technical data about this laptop...
