PWS.b and mirka4e.exe

Marty

I have some spyware or something, I get a mcafee message pop up saying that
file C:\windows\system32\mirka4e.exe was infected by the generic PWS.b
trojan and it was deleted. Well, it comes up every few seconds while
changing web pages or just sitting. I updated spybot and adaware and it
didn't help and I even scanned for viruses and none found. What is it?

Nope, didn't work. I even went back 2 weeks and it must be in the
backup as well.

By "backup" I assume you mean system restore? If so, you will need to turn
SR off and back on again. Right click My Computer and select the SR tab.
Turn off SR on all drives, reboot and then turn it back on. Yes, you will
lose all restore points but, as they useless to you it doesn't matter. When
you have reset it, and after you've removed the virus (if you've not done a
scan with a recent (post-2002) updated AVP and also scanned with a spyware
remover (I use Spybot from www.safer-networking.org) then why not?!) create
a new point.

I turned off sys restore yesterday and in safe mode did a virus scan then
adaware and spybot all updated with no results.

Please use capitalisation on proper nouns, that's System Restore!

as they useless to you it doesn't matter.

as they "ARE" useless. Where's your pedantic attitude, when you actually compose your own words clumped into sentence fragments?

When you have reset it, and after you've removed the virus (if you've not done a
scan with a recent (post-2002) updated AVP and also scanned with a spyware
remover (I use Spybot from www.safer-networking.org) then why not?!) create

HUH? Post properly with correct punctuation! I lost my breath simply reading, as your clumps are confusing also.

As you have the gall to typically add to the end of your posts to other who make these same violations you hate, read here:
