I have WMP 10. Help>About says Version: 10.00.00.4036
But if I go to Help>Check for Player updates, I get a window titled
'Windows Media Player 9 Series'
with a message that the Setup Wizard has encountered a problem:
"More recent Player already installed
Your version of Windows on this Computer already contains a more
recent version of Windows Media Player. Windows Media Player 9 Series
setup will now exit."
What's going on here please? How does WMP 9 get into the act?
Also, assuming I find a way to do so safely, is there a consensus on
whether it's worth upgrading to version 11 yet, i.e. is it stable?
