Sorry, we can't guess which program you installed.

Have you contacted technical support for your mysterious unnamed program?
 
hi,
i have installed a desktop search program,(not file recovery)
instead of the one provided with xp2.
after runing it there were files,folders,pics,
some i downloaded,some i deleted,and some ive,
never seen?? where are they stored,and why havent,
they taken up my memory??

you need to learn the basics of windows..however,.
stored files take "disk space" not memory
xp2 u mean sp2? it doesnt contain desktop search program ie, google
desktop

all the files in your computers are stored in the harddisk to browse
what's in the harddisk go to "my computer" you should see drives
"C,D,E" etc.. this drives contain your files
also check "my documents" maybe the downloaded files stored there

i mean the search on the start up page,
just above the run box,i havent explaind

properly,i installd effective search prog,
that gave the results,when i said memory i ment,
disk c:properties the pie chart,

i didnt want to adverties products...

what i mean is you know the,search and run boxs.
on the start up page by all programs,,
well i installd effective search.program and that,
displayd things i had deleted months ago mainly
pictures,when i say memmory i mean the pie chart
in c: propertys, i was just puzzlled where they are.

If the stuff was still on board -even though in the bin, it wouldn't
show a change in memory just because you lost and/or deleted them.

The search in the Start menu is a standard feature of all the Windows
systems. What might have happened is that you had them running under a
different user account than the one you normaly use.

Right click on the Start menu and then click on Explore and see what
accounts are listed.
