Hi,

I am creating a library database in Access for training
resources. I have created a form and would like to have a
box on it with the synopsis/blurb about the particular
resource. I am aware that I need to make it the data type
a memo but some of the descriptions about the materials
are pretty long and I was wondering if it is possible to
have a little scroll bar to the side of the box rather
than have a big box?

Any tops much appreciated.

Thanks,

Abigail

Abigail,

There already is a vertical scroll bar with a memo field. When you fill the memo
field the scroll bar will appear.

Am I being an idiot - because it doesn't? I thought it
would be that straightforward but it doesn't seem to be.
Does it matter that I made this decision after making the
form? Originally I had it as a text box but it was too
small to hold all the info so I changed it to a memo.
Should that definately work then?

Thanks

A Memo field by default includes vertical scroll bars.
However, you/someone might have turned them off.
Set the Memo control's the Scroll Bar property to Vertical.
It's on the Format tab of the property sheet.
