I am not a novice on computers, should know the answer to this myself, but
just want to be sure.
I have a great deal of downloaded programs, plus ones that were installed
when I bought computer, that are on my hard drive. Some I use very seldom,
but really don't want to uninstall them. What I want to know, is can I copy
these to a CD-RW and then use them off of that when I want, without
installing them again? Even if I had to install them, I could use, then
again copy to the CD???

No, you can't really install programs to CD's. all you can do is copy the
installer to a CD.

Yes, I put (burned) a copy of F-prot virus scanner for
Dos on CD to use on a friends 98se computer and it worked
fine, found a virus too. You just will not have the
ability to make changes to the program after it is burned
to the CD. The scanner could not be set and saved to a
different configuration. Some programs may very and may
not work, if they need to write to the disk/CD..
