putting MOV movies in powerpoint 2000

I have been trying to do this for days now with no luck. I have movie
I need to put into my PowerPoint presentation. They are in QuickTime
but I don't have QuickTime pro. I will buy it if that's what I need.
So the current movies are in MOV files and I have PowerPoint 2000.
tried converting the MOV to AVI and inserting and no luck. then trie
to convert AVI to MPG but it would not let me do that, said that MP
needed sound track. My movies don't have sound, they are bugs runnin
around. Someone sent me a MPG file and it worked in powerpoint, s
thats why I was trying to go that direction.

Help!!!
