Yes, you can. You can do this by some of the preset paths such as triangles
where the end point meets the origin point. Or you can draw a custom path,
such as a curve. But you must make the end point join the start point or it
will jump when it loops. You can join ends when drawing the path, or right
click on the path, Edit Points, and select Close Path.
Then, when you animate the object, get it to "Loop", either a number of
times or until Next Mouse Click or End of Slide.
So, for the up and down motion:
Use an "Up" Path, set it to Auto Reverse, and Loop as many times as you
want. But you will have to tweak the start of the animation. The object may
jump to where-ever the path starts. So take that into account when
animating. The green part of the arrow for the path must be where you want
the object to start.
By the way, you can click on an individual path and move it with your arrow
keys.
