Hello can anyone help me...i'm desperate trying to find a quicker way to this task: I have a worksheet where i need to add addition formula's into each row and then have the same formula repeat it self in a downwards direction into the same column...for e.g. = D7+F7+H7+J7(in one cell on a row)..i want to repeat the same formula but this time in the cell directly below but this time to be shown as D8+F8+H8+J8 without having to go into the function bar and cut/paste each formula and change it manually...is there a quicker way to this task? If so, please can you help.

Many thanks

Bimmy,

Enter the formula into your first cell. Then move the cursor to the bottom
right of that cell until it changes to a dark cross. At this point, click
and hold down the mouse button, and drag down to your final row. The formula
will be copied down, updating as it goes.

Bob,

Thank you so much! You have saved me so much time...i'm very grateful to you, i looked on Help and couldn't find the answer to my query anywhere...Many thanks indeed!

Hi Bimmy:

Re: "i looked on Help and couldn't find the answer to my query

You'll find a good site for referencing explanation here:

Chip Pearson:
http://www.cpearson.com/excel/relative.htm

Also go to the bottom of that page and click Topic Index. That page is
well worth referencing.

If you can't find in Help try Google Searching. Ron de Bruin has a
great free tool that allows this from inside Excel. Download complete
with user guide from:
