I bought XP pro upgrade and put in on a home computer.
Then I bought a repacement computer and only want to use
XP pro on the new computer. I have a valid product key.
How can I just us it on the new computer?!!!! Please
advise. I don't think it is fair for Microsoft to expect
another $200 to use a valid key on a new computer when
the old one is obsolete and out of service.

Assuming you have a "retail upgrade version" of Windows XP Pro,
and you removed it from your old computer via reformatting
the drive, you may install it on your new computer.

Note: If you are unable to activate Windows XP again via the internet,
then select the option to "activate by telephone".

They don't expect that at all. Only OEM copies have such a
restriction. If you have an upgrade version, it's not an OEM copy
and you are therefore entitled to move it to any computer you
want.

Simply remove it from the old computer and install it on the new
one. You'll have to reactivate it, of course, but that's not a
problem. If it's been over 120 days, it should activate over the
internet just as it did the first time. If under 120 days, you'll
be prompted to call an 800 number, but that's almost as quick and
easy; just explain what you did.
