An Icon was dragged to the desktop from the All Programmes area. How can it
be put back there?

An Icon was dragged to the desktop from the All Programmes area. How can
it be put back there?

One of the folders that makes up the Start button --> All programs menu is
here:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

Thanks for that, it was a friend actually that did this. I tried all the
suggestions myself and they all seemed to work fine.

You can try 2 methods. First one is:

1. Hold down the Icon on your Desktop by left clicking on it.
2. Move the icon on Start Menu button [Don't Release the button now]
3. Move your mouse pointer to All Programs and release the button on the
position where you want to place the item.

Second One is:

1. Right-click on the Desktop icon and choose Cut
2. Right-click on Start button and choose Open
3. Choose the desire location and Right-click Paste
