put chat functionality on my homepage

Is there a program that will enable visitors on my website to chat with each
other? Any usefull links will be greatly appreciated. (I tried to google it
but I just thought asking the experts would give better results.)

usually a webhost will provide something, try phpMyChat for starters.

there is also phpOpenChat too.
