Hello - I'm having a problem. We currently have all our clients running
Windows NT 4.0. We are going to be rolling out XP SP1 to all our clients.
Our clients got their desktops, start bars, everything from Novell Zenworks.
Now we're going to GPO's accross the board.

The client app shortcuts would run a script - something like:

\\server1\share\poly.reg \\ to update the registry on the local machine
\\server1\share\poly.exe \\ the application itself

This no longer works with XP Pro. The application icons cannot modify the
registry on the local machine so our apps fail. Anyone shed any light on why
this is (I'm guessing security)? How to work arround it? Any docs from MS
that could help?

Thanks

Hello Patrick,

I've had success using 214752 in order to add reg settings as a group policy
option (Depending on the amount of reg changes needed)
