I got a virus on my computer (an Intel Celeron from 2002, 1.0 GHz, WinXP Home) that I could not get rid of, and I needed to use it for writing essays due before I could get a hold of my XP Home disk, so I installed Win XP Office over it hoping to purge all of the infected files. After finals I reinstalled my Win XP Home, but unfortunately it left the XP Pro and now my computer is having all sorts of troubles due to this dual operating system (I took out my secondary hard drive because I could not format it and it had many infected files) and the remains of the original virus! How can I reinstall my Win XP Home so that it completely scrubs all of the files and removes the existing operating systems?

I am very grateful for any and all help!
Aleks

Clean Install of WinXP

Read, and re-read until you understand how it is done properly.
Print it out for reference beforehand, if you like.

By the way, Office is not an Operating System programme; it is a collection
of useful set of software helping people to work better in an office and
these all *run on* operating system such as Windows. Office programmes are
like train carriages of different types but they all *run on* the same rail
track, i.e. the operating system.

You're right, I meant that it had both XP Home and XP Pro, not Home and Office. Thanks for the link.
