Is there a way to automatically purge computer accounts that have been
dead for x amount of time? I know there are about 100 or so computers in
the computers folder that I know don't exist, or were renamed, or
whatever.... but I don't know exactly which ones or live and which ones
are ghosts.

Are there any utils to help with this?

The Microsoft newsgroups are a place to share information. If you have a
solution to this problem it would be nice if you could post it here so all
can benefit.

Yes, there is.

Take a look at the chapter 8 of the 'Active Directory Cookbook'. Your
questions was
already ask/answered by someone else ~1-2 week ago in another NG. By memory
I
think it's in microsoft.public.scripting.vbscript .

Anyway, the answer was this url.

The chapter 8/code is freely 'sample' available at :

Chapter 8
8.8. Finding inactive or unused computers

! Nice book , I will probably buy this one.
