Purchasing a resource

I am looking for recommendations on purchase some form of published resource
manual to help me through this project. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I am a novice trying to do the job of a professional. I am in the process of
trying to build an application for our bank that will keep track of the
charge-offs and recoveries and have available to the teller lines via a
search function by name,or account #. I am frustrated because of
understanding all the specifics surroundings the ins and outs of queries and
how to intergrade the queries into a form format.
 
I am a novice trying to do the job of a professional. I have never worked
with Access before in my life. I am trying to build an application to
monitor our charge-off and recoveries with the capability for the teller
lines to use. It must have a search function to pull a customer's info via
name or account #. So I am frustrated with the specifics surrounding the
queries and form format. I need something that is "KISS" because I am
learning everything as I go along.

This could mean anything from introductory books like the (good
despite the offputting name) Dummies guide, to the two-volume, 3000+
page _Access XP Developer's Handbook_ published by Sybex. What's the
project, and what resources do you need?
