Purchased XP Pro on Ebay, serial does not work

Hello All,

I recently purchased a copy of windows xp professional from ebay. It is a copy that comes with a pc (or the booklet says so at any rate)

The serial that came with it does not work and I am wondering how to receive a serial that in fact works. I have the cd part number.

That describe OEM Windows.
Microsoft can not help with OEM.
Contacting the seller is your only option.
Consider contacting Ebay about possible piracy and illegal software
sales.

Contact the manufacturer of the computer for which that CD was
designed. You'll find out that, in plain English, you've been "had."

Then contact eBay and file a complaint about fraudulent sales. If
the seller is in the same country as you, might also consider filing a
complaint with your local law enforcement agencies. If you paid by
credit card, contact the bank to see if you can get you money back.
