pulling my hair out! IE troubles...

OK, I've done the Ad-Aware, Norton full system scan,
HiJackThis.....has anyone dealt with this when you open IE
and the page doesn't load?

res://C:\WINDOWS\System32\shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm#http://www

The above is what the source is of my page (any site I try
to go to - the www is followed by the site).

Has anyone solved this completely?
Thanks,

Go to this Registry key:

HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\URL\Prefixes

Make sure under the WWW key on the right, there's HTTP://
there, if not add it.

Some adaware programs remove this.

Click, Start, Run, type in regedit....be careful it's
your registry, make sure to go to the correct entry!

Thanks - this is the one Mark gave me -
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\Prefixes
Do you think I'll have a problem?
Everything was fine until I did a Microsoft Critical Update
yesterday! :blush:/

You can also try Start - Run - type in

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

press enter and if it comes back registered successfully,
then try it again.

I just tried it - and it came back failed, the specified
module could not be found. Now what? :(
Should I try the first thing you told me?
Thanks,
